OUR WEEK 8 production PHOTO JOURNAL

Check out our photo journal compiled below & learn more about the final week of production for The City of Servers.

This final week of production was bittersweet--while we're thrilled to be moving into the post-production stage of this project, it's always hard to switch gears. Thanks to our incredible production team (and supporters), we've acquired footage that truly offers a unique perspective on this coastal foodie city we all know and love. This piece would also be impossible without our interviewees and the variety of businesses that offered their spaces free of charge for us to collect the footage we needed to tell this story.

Our last day of shooting for this production occurred Monday (3/27/23). For this final shoot, our team traveled across Portland to capture various exterior b-roll footage to include in our documentary. We visited some of the most popular locations in downtown Portland, including Monument Square, the Eastern Promenade Park, Exchange St, and the Old Port/waterfront area along the docks. All photos included in this final production journal are from this last b-roll shoot day and are courtesy of our talented set photographer, Travis Harden (scroll down to read his bio).

We also have some very exciting news to share! Our first official screening date for The Maine Mayhem Film Festival has been announced by our sponsor, Southern Maine Community College. On May 11th, 2023, The City of Servers will premiere at the Nickelodeon Cinema in downtown Portland, ME. We have two separate screenings that night--one at 6:00 pm and the other at 8:45 pm. Tickets are not yet on sale, but as soon as they are, that information will be shared here and more immediately via our social media accounts. We're also closing in on several other screening announcements, with locations including but not limited to the Portland Museum of Art, The Bangor Arts Exchange, and the Magic Lantern Theatre in Bridgeton, ME. Finally, we're happy to share our group Maine Mayhem Film Festival design (pictured above), created by fellow SMCC film student Kayla Harding. Our individual poster design will also be revealed in the coming weeks--stay tuned!

Without further ado, here is our final production photo journal for The City of Servers!

ABOUT OUR SET PHOTOGRAPHER

Brief bio: I am a Southern Maine based photographer, DJ, and videographer. I first started learning how to DJ when I was 14 years old, working with my Dad, and have done it myself professionally for the last 7 years. I fell in love with the art of photography in 2020, and decided to turn my COVID hobby into a career. Portrait photography is one of my favorite styles to shoot. So many people say they don't like being photographed because they don't think they look good in photos. I believe that everyone deserves a moment to feel beautiful, and I want to help show people the beauty that I, and everyone else, sees in them. When I'm not behind a camera or in a DJ booth, I can be found on stage either acting or building sets. I also like to spend my time skiing, hiking, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
